Hi, my name is Crystal Moran and I’ve seen some pretty amazing things at San Diego Hyperbarics. Stroke victims, diabetics, autistic children. Burn patients, chronic fatigue sufferers and people needing wounds healed file in and out of this clinic. Each person has a unique story and I want to share mine to encourage and inform others who may be researching hyperbaric oxygen treatment or “HBOT”

In 1999, I had hip surgery to keep my femur from coming out of its socket. One third of my pelvic bone was cut and tilted forty degrees . Due to blood loss, I received seven transfusions and waited six months before bearing any weight on that leg. Full recovery was supposed to happen within another year.

Somehow that full recovery seemed impossible to attain and kept slipping from my grasp. Simple balance while standing eluded me and instead of becoming stronger, my muscles began to shrink. What on earth was happening? My husband Scott, took me to UC Davis and they said I was an anomaly. Muscle spasms like Charlie horses, ripped up and down my legs. My arms began to twitch and then we watched in horror as my fingers and feet curled and couldn’t be released.

When my face started spasming we headed off to U.C. San Francisco. They suspect Lupus or Multiple Sclerosis. I could hardly chew and began drinking most of my meals. Sleep was out of the question and I was prescribed Percocet for the pain and Ambien for rest. It was during this time that my body temperature started to plummet. My entire body ached from a sub-grade temperature of 93.9 degrees.

The Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona deemed me an anomaly once again. We’d have to wait a year for a neurologist there to view my case.

Enough with traditional medicine! While in Scottsdale we were introduced to Sir Arnold Takemoto of Bio Immune. With a hair analysis he discovered mercury poisoning and an unnatural deposit or dump of magnesium. With beet-derived Vitamin C I. V. ’s, mega doses of magnesium chelate, natures thyroid and detoxification we began to gain some ground. All my amalgam silver dental fillings were carefully removed.

All this was helpful but I was still sick. Perhaps a brain MRI would confirm MS and we could really tackle the underlying problem. The MRI had a suspicious spot and once again, I was directed to a new Doctor.

Now it was 2003 and this is quite frustrating and expensive to say the least. My new Doctor in Santa Rosa, California reviewed my case and explained that he was certain this wasn’t MS, but Lyme’s Disease. “Oh goody... this should be easy to clear up, “ I mistakenly assumed.

My test did show positive to Lyme disease. We lived where herd of deer roam freely, but I do not remember a tick bite. It’s very possible that the blood transfusions from the hip surgery had transmitted the Lyme’s.

I began an eighteen month treatment of oral antibiotics. Most people have experienced relief from an infection with antibiotics but with Lyme’s disease, the opposite is true. The body becomes a battle filed and the parasite or spirochete fights to live and attacks the body and brain without mercy. I was walking into walls, vomiting several times a day and had migraines that I thought were going to kill me. The headaches were so bad that I could not stand any noise or light. Even candle light was too bright. I laid on the bathroom floor with the door shut for darkness.

Oral antibiotics were too hard and I opted for a PIC line, an IV from the upper arm to the aorta. This lasted for six weeks and I had to have it removed and another inserted. The medicines was $150.00 dollars each day and the sterile dressing on my arm had to be changed by a nurse every week.

During this time the whites of my eyes became bloody and would not clear up. My vision was not harmed, but I was so scared at the time. Prednisone finally cleared the sclera to while again and took away the rash that dotted my abdomen that drove me near insanity with the itch. I used oxycoton for pain.

Would this never end?

At home my husband and two teenagers, mother and wonderful church friends surrounded me with love and prayer. How we longed for an answer to this prayer for my health!
 

We’ve all heard of the quote “God works in mysterious was, His wonders to perform. ” Well, through the grapevine of the morning news we heard about a lady cured of chronic Lyme’s disease through hyperbaric oxygen treatments. It sounded good, but a little far fetched. After all, I was using alternative medicine and this was not being pursued. I checked every internet site available and was tickled to talk to Patty Sands. God was about to do something wonderful for me.

On January 2, 2005, my husband drove me to Sacramento to fly me to San Diego. The sights and sounds at the airport were too much to handle and I couldn’t walk to the gate. A wheelchair was necessary and my pride was shattered. My dad met me at the airport and carried me to his car and took me home. I started treatment the next day, January 3, 2005 and that was the beginning of the incredible turnaround. Twenty-one consecutive daily treatments changed my life!
 

I have now been disease free for five full months. I continue to regain strength and feel wonderful! HBOT is such an incredible tool! My life has been extended and all of those terrible symptoms have vanished. Can you sense my enthusiasm to tell you how effective this is?
